Recovering from a Brow Lift or Forehead Lift Procedure

botoxA brow lift or forehead lift is for someone looking to correct wrinkles, lines, and/or drooping of the the brow. Browlift surgery can drastically improve ones appearance and give them a more youthful, refreshed look and feel.

Many patients that come in to see Dr. Thompson complain that others ask often if they are tired or angry when they are not. Correcting an aging brow can help someone match how they look on the outside to how they feel on the inside.

Dr. Thompson uses the least invasive and most advanced technique available – the endoscopic forehead lift or brow lift. This approach utilizes a camera and small incisions hidden within the hair and lessens recovery time.

Most patients do not experience much pain following an endoscopic forehead left but medications are prescribed as there may be some initial pain following surgery. Bruising can occur, typically showing around the eyes, and can last 7-10 days. Swelling peaks around 48 hours and typically resolves within 1 to 3 weeks following surgery. Ice packs are recommended for the first 2-3 days to help with swelling and Arnica, a homeopathic herb that reduces bruising, is given prior to surgery. An antibiotic is also prescribed to reduce the risk of infection.

Patients are typically feeling good after the first week and any remaining bruising can be covered well with GloMinerals camouflage makeup that is gentle on post surgical skin.

Temporary numbness may occur and takes approximately 2-4 weeks to reside.
