Are you not in love with your nose? Are you thinking that it might be too big? Do you look in the mirror and picture yourself with a smaller one or wish that you didn’t have that bump? Or maybe you had a previous nasal trauma injury that has caused cosmetic or functional problems with your nose. What do you do next?
Scheduling a Consultation
The next step would be to schedule a rhinoplasty consultation with the right doctor with the right credentials. Both Drs. Thompson and Henstrom are double board certified Ear Nose Throat and facial plastic surgeons. Which means, when it comes to getting a rhinoplasty, they are competent to improve the appearance and ensure it functions efficiently as well.
To schedule a rhinoplasty consultation, you can call our office and we will get you scheduled for a consultation at our Layton or Draper office. Dr. Thompson sees patients for consultations in Draper on Mondays and in Layton on Tuesdays and every other Wednesday. He occasionally see patients in Layton on Thursdays and Fridays when it works with his surgical schedule. Dr. Henstrom sees patients in Layton for consultations on Mondays and in Draper on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
The consultation is complimentary if purely for cosmetic concerns. If you have breathing problems, there will be a copay collected if required by your insurance company. It’s important to check with your insurance company prior to your consultation to ensure your surgeon of choice is on your specific plan.
The Consultation Process
When you arrive, you will fill out some paperwork and we will take photos for your chart. You will be able to meet with the surgeon to discuss your concerns, get all of your questions answered and review the rhinoplasty recovery process. He will also perform an exam of your nose to see if anything needs to be repaired internally. Your patient care coordinator will then go over all of the costs and answer any further questions you may have.
At that point, you can schedule an imaging session at a later date where you can sit down with your surgeon and view your current photo with a morphed image of the anticipated outcome, Together, you can discuss any changes and ensure you are both on the same page prior to surgery. This appointment does cost $100, which is applied toward your rhinoplasty surgery. We can then schedule your surgery and set up a pre-operative appointment (or do at the same time) if you decide to move forward with surgery.
