We are excited to offer AccuTite nonsurgical facial rejuvenation. This office procedure tightens localized areas of the face using radiofrequency technology. Over the years, doctors have become aware of the nuances of facial aging. More and more patients are seeking care for particular concerns, such as laugh lines, marionette lines, and undereye puffiness rather than more widespread rejuvenation. AccuTite allows us to do just that.Â
How it Works
The AccuTite procedure is designed to achieve outstanding results in a single session. To achieve this, the doctor uses a special probe that delivers radiofrequency energy beneath the skin’s surface. This is similar to the probe used in FaceTite treatment, but is smaller to target localized concerns. Common treatment areas include the upper or lower eyelids, smile lines, a sagging brow, marionette lines, and the neck. By delivering RF energy beneath the skin, the AccuTite device stimulates fibroblast activity that tightens the skin for up to one year. This doesn’t mean results only last one year, it means that the remodeling stimulated by this RF device can continue for that long.Â
How it’s Done
AccuTite is nonsurgical but it does involve inserting a tiny probe beneath the skin. To ensure comfort, we prescribe Valium for the patient to take 30 minutes before their appointment. In the office, patients can also use Pronox self-administered nitrous oxide to soothe nerves and maximize pain relief. Additionally, injections of local anesthesia are administered before the doctor makes incisions. Together, these strategies make the patient extremely comfortable. After the area is anesthetized, the doctor inserts the small probe through an incision. This is carefully moved back and forth to deliver the right amount of energy to incite tissue remodeling. Depending on the area we are treating, the procedure can last from 15 minutes to an hour.
Downtime after AccuTite is minimal. Most patients are ready to return to their normal activities in 2 to 3 days. Bruising may last up to 10 days but can be disguised with makeup after 3 to 4 days. To reduce bruising, patients are advised to avoid exercise for one week after treatment. They may also be advised to wear a compression garment like a chin strap depending on the issue they have had treated. Results build gradually but patients usually see a remarkable difference by 6 weeks after treatment.Â
