Why Are Proactive and Preventative Treatments Soaring?

Preventative and proactive procedures are soaring because many individuals are more aware and knowledgeable about aesthetic treatments. Many individuals of all ages, but especially millennials are now going into consultations more educated about their treatment options and are even willing to have slightly more downtime for substantial results instead of trying multiple treatments that may or may not be effective.

Non-Surgical Skin Rejuvenation

Skin rejuvenation is not only preventive, but it is also a form of maintenance. Non-surgical treatments such as chemical peels, laser treatments, and Botox are some of the best ways to maintain youthful looking skin. Non-surgical skin rejuvenation offers individuals a variety of options that can be tailored to their unique needs while still providing them with noticeable results. We have also noticed that patients are willing to have slightly more downtime for more considerable results. At Utah Facial Plastics we can offer our patients both invasive and non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatments that treat a variety of skin concerns.

Skin concerns that can be addressed with non-surgical skin rejuvenation:

  • Sun damage
  • Age spots
  • Fine lines
  • Rosacea
  • Redness
  • Birthmarks
  • Freckles
  • Acne and acne scarring
  • Skin texture
  • Broken capillaries

Radiofrequency Treatments Remain Popular

Radiofrequency treatments like Morpheus8 will continue to be popular because of its ability to smooth and contour multiple areas of the face. Morpheus8 uses radiofrequency heat to stimulate collagen, elastin, and new skin cells. More radiofrequency treatments are non-invasive treatments that involve very little to no downtime at all, making it ideal for those concerned with downtime. Radiofrequency treatments are also commonly done with a variety of other non-surgical skin treatments for total facial rejuvenation. Other treatments that utilize radiofrequency include AccuTite, and FaceTite which can mildly lift and tighten the skin without surgery.

Niche Surgeries are Rising

The fear of looking overfilled is leading to more individuals getting a surgical procedure for natural long-lasting results. Surgical procedures like lip lifts, brow lift, and MACSlift (mini facelift) are becoming increasingly popular especially amongst younger individuals because they are instant, low maintenance and long-lasting.

Lip lifts are typically done on individuals who have a disproportionate length between the upper lip and nostrils. Lip lifts do not revolumize the lips like filler would but instead makes the top lip look slightly fuller.  During a lip lift procedure, the incision is under the nostrils and once healed, the incision hides nicely under the nose.

Brow Lifts or forehead lifts can subtly change the brow position, correct frown lines and can improve the eyelid appearance. Brow lifts can be done endoscopically which allows excellent results with smaller incisions that are easier to hide.

MACSlift surgery is an in- office mini facelift procedure that is done in short of a few hours and addresses the mid and lower face for jowling and redefining the jawline. The downtime for this procedure is achievable for many and a great option for people who don’t want to have a full facelift or want to proactively address early signs of aging.
