Considering Botox? Here are some things you should know

If you’re considering  Botox, there are a few things you need to know first. There are a lot of myths and misconceptions about Botox, and we want to get you all the right information before making a decision.

Look For an Experienced Injector

Botox is the most popular non-invasive cosmetic treatment and now is offered just about everywhere, but you don’t want to get it just anywhere. When searching for an injector near you, there are a few key things to look for. First, is the facility reputable and owned and operated under a physician? Utah Facial Plastics has both and has been for the last 15 years. Next, who is the injector and what does their experience and credentials look like? This is important because you want a knowledgeable, experienced injector doing your Botox. Currently at UFP, we have 5 experienced nursed injectors who keep up with continued education and learning alongside our dual-board certified facial plastic surgeons.

Botox is Safe

Botox is safe when injected by someone who is a licensed, well qualified medical professional with a lot of hands-on experience and training with Botox. Botox is one of the safest drugs on the market and has been FDA-approved for 20 years to temporarily treat fine lines and wrinkles.

Botox Doesn’t Last Forever

On average, Botox lasts approximately 3-4 months. Botox treatments require maintenance and to maintain results, we recommend getting treated at least 2-3 times per year. Botox not lasting forever definitely has its pros. For example, if you don’t like your results, you can expect them to slowly fade a few months following treatment. Again, to prevent you from being unsatisfied with your Botox results, it is important to see an experienced injector.

Botox Isn’t Going to Ease All Your Wrinkles

Unfortunately, Botox isn’t going to ease all your wrinkles, but it is going to make them softer. With consistent Botox treatments fine lines and wrinkles in areas such as the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes can become much smoother.

Botox works by temporarily weakening muscle activity which will later prevent your wrinkles from becoming deeper. With consistent Botox treatments your wrinkles will gradually soften. Preventive Botox is the best way to stave off those stubborn wrinkles that appear with regular facial expressions.

Budgeting For Botox

If you are planning on making Botox treatments part of your beauty routine, you may want to consider a Botox Membership. At Utah Facial Plastics we offer our patients a couple different VIP membership options. The VIP and The Elite memberships are the perfect way to budget your beauty treatments and save money while doing it. There are also other aesthetic perks available with these programs for overall skin rejuvenation. If a membership isn’t something you want to commit to, we also offer Beauty Bank where you can deposit funds into your account with us to save up for treatments.
