What is Restylane Silk?
Restylane Silk is the first and only FDA-approved filler specifically designed for lip enhancement and the smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth (also known as smoker’s lines or perioral rhytids).
All products in the Restylane family are consist of a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid. Each product is specifically formulated to act like your body’s own naturally produced hyaluronic acid and works by filling in wrinkles and restoring volume.
How is Restylane Silk different than other Restylane products?
Restylane Silk is made of smaller, smoother particles than Restylane and Perlane, which is why it’s perfect for fine lines around the mouth and subtle lip enhancement.
Like other areas of the face, the lips begin to show signs of aging overtime. This often results in thinner lips that are less shapely, as well as fine lines around the lips.
The unique particle gel formula in Restylane Silk helps give patients a softer result that looks and feels completely natural.

What should I expect from my Restylane Silk treatment?
During an initial consultation your UFP injector will determine if Restylane Silk is right for you. Treament can be done at that same appointment if you choose to move forward. Topical numbing is applied prior to injections to minimize discomfort with treatment.
An ultra fine needle designed to improve accuracy is used to inject Restylane Silk to fine lines around the lips and/or directly to the inside of the lips for instant rejuvenation. Treatment generally takes 20-30 minutes though individual treatment times may vary. A cold ice pack is provided to reduce swelling.
Our injectors typically start with a conservative amount to ensure natural results. After patients have purchased a full syringe, they can come back for more at any time with no additional charges if not all product was used at the initial treatment.
Minor swelling, tenderness, and/or bruising can occur at the injection site but typically resides in a few days following treatment.
Avoid taking aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John’s wort, or Vitamen E supplements before treatment and for one week after treatment as they may increase bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
