Dermal Fillers & Injectables Layton, UT

When signs of aging occur they often begin to show up in the form of lines and wrinkles. Maybe it's not signs of aging you are concerned with, but more adding volume or symmetry to your facial features. Injectables called dermal fillers are a quick, non-surgical option to soften lines, folds, restore volume, and even enhance appearance. The most common and safest dermal fillers used are made of hyaluronic acid (HA), which is naturally found through out the body and why our bodies respond so well to this treatment. UFP Aesthetics nurse injectors in Layton, UT provide these treatments with extensive qualifications and experience, delivering amazing results to our patients. They are trained directly under our double board-certified physicians, along with continuous advanced injector education to offer safe and result-driven treatments. We have carefully selected the products we offer based on efficacy and safety.

Some very well known and FDA approved dermal fillers that UFP Aesthetics offers are:

There are different fillers in each collection that treat different concerns and areas. Dermal Fillers and botox

A common question we get asked is "Are Botox and fillers the same?". In summary, the answer is no.  Injectables like Botox and Dysport are neuromodulators, which function differently than fillers. They are injected to weaken a muscle and soften "dynamic wrinkles".  Botox primarily treats wrinkles of the forehead like horizontal lines, scowl lines, crows feet and "bunny lines." Botox and dermal fillers are often used in conjunction with one another to achieve full facial rejuvenation.

Dermal Filler FAQ's

The best candidates for dermal fillers in Utah are those with mild to moderate signs of aging or a desire to augment a certain area of the face, such as the lips or cheeks. Younger patients often begin getting dermal filler and/or botox injections as a way to prevent or stave off signs of aging before they worsen.

Dr. Scott Thompson and Dr. Douglas Henstrom, double board certified facial plastic surgeons in Utah, have extensive experience with dermal fillers. During your consultation, they will discuss your concerns, goals and desires.

They will then examine the structures of your face, assess the quality of your skin tone and bone structure, and will make recommendations he feels will help you achieve your aesthetic goals. They will also discuss any possible risks and complications that could follow your procedure, if applicable. Information on skincare and other procedures that may enhance your overall result will be provided as well.

A Utah Facial Plastics associate will then provide you with all the financial details on any procedure discussed at your consultation and give financing options if applicable. They can also help facilitate the next step in the process and/or provide additional resources, such as before and after photos, articles, educational videos, etc.

Your dermal filler treatment can be done at the same time as your consultation if you decide to proceed and if your injector determines you are a good candidate.

It is recommended that you avoid any medications that can prolong bleeding, such as aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDS), for about a week prior to receiving treatment in order to reduce the risk of bruising and bleeding.

Upon arrival at our office, numbing cream is applied once your injector has determined you are a candidate for Juvederm and has determined which formulation is right for you. We let that sit for about 20-30 minutes so any pain at the injection site is minimized. The injection itself usually takes about 15 minutes.

There is no recovery time post procedure and most patients return to work or resume their day following their appointment. You may experience some tenderness, temporary redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, and bumps at the injections sites. These typically clear up on their own in 7 days or less. We do provide an ice pack for you to take with you and place on the injection site(s) for a brief period. It is typically recommended to avoid strenuous exercise, extended exposure to heat, and alcohol consumption for the remainder of the day if possible.
